In Carefree Arizona an early morning hike up Cave Creek’s Black Mountain Trail shows off wide angle views of the valley below. These saguaro cactus (pronounced “sah-wah-ro”) seem to be doing just fine thank you very much in the rocky “soil” of the Arizona desert.
The loons on this small lake seem to love hearing their calls echo off the trees. Me too especially late at night. What would a true north woods experience be without the cry of the loon?
